The ILP Workshop on Interaction Between the Lithosphere and Surface Processes will be held from Oct. 28 to Oct. 29, 2024, in Nanjing, China. As an outreach activity of the ILP, this workshop aims to attract young researchers by choosing challenging topics and adopting integrated approaches. Hence this workshop will invite leading scientists from ILP, as well as winners of the Evgueni Burov Medal and the Flinn-Hart Award, to provide training of young researchers on lithosphere studies. During the workshop, every lecture is invited to give two or three talks (50 minutes per talk, including 15-20 min. for question and discussion) on one topic of his/her interest. The whole workshop will consist of 4-5 topics.
The ILP workshop will to be open to all participants of the DEEP-2024 symposium as well as students and young scientists in China. ILP is grateful to the State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research at Nanjing University, China National Committee for the ILP, and the SinoProbe Laboratory to host this workshop. ILP also appreciates the contribution of four distinguished lecturers: Prof. Sierd Cloetingh (Utrecht University), Prof. Gregory A. Houseman (University of Leeds), Prof. Fabio A. Capitanio (Monash University), Prof. Liang Zhao (Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences).
Schedule:
- Oct. 27 (Sunday): Registration in International Conference Centre of Nanjing University, Xianlin Avenue 163, Nanjing;
- Oct. 28 (Monday) – Oct. 29 (Tuesday): Lectures and discussion.
Key Dates:
- July 16: First circular of the ILP workshop, start of registration;
- July 30: Second circular of the ILP workshop with a detailed lecture schedule;
- Sep. 30: Deadline for registration, confirmation of room booking.
Registration Fee:
1800 CNY per person (250 $). Registration fee covers three nights (Oct. 27-29, or Oct. 28-30) in the International Conference Center in Nanjing University (four-star hotel, a standard business room), meals and tea break during the workshop. Students can obtain 50% discount if share a standard room with two beds.
Foreigners can pay in cash or credit card on site when they arrive in Nanjing. Chinese can transfer the registration fee to the bank account of Nanjing University via AliPay or WeChat.
